Abbie Farwell Brown Poems

Abbie Farewell Brown was an American poet born in 1871 in Boston, Massachusetts. She began writing as Jean Neal in 1896 when she sent articles to the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. Her first book was published in 1900, The Book of Saints and Friendly Beasts. It contained some of the material she’s best known for today: stories about saints and animals inspired by Christian beliefs. Some of her other successful books were Tales of the Red Children, The Lonesomest Doll, and In the Days of Giants. Read more about Abbie Farewell Brown.
