Alan Dugan Poems

Alan Dugan was an American poet who grew up in New York and served in the army. He attended Mexico City College, and his first book of poetry, Poems, was published in 1961. It was chosen for the Yale Series of Younger Poets. It was also awarded the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. Other collections include Poems Seven: New and Complete Poetry, which also won the National Book Award, Poems Six, and Poems 2. He uses clear diction and language throughout his poetry in what has been described as a “no-nonsense” manner of prose.
