Alberto Caeiro Poems

Alberto Caeiro was the heteronym of Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa born in Lisbon in the late 1880s. The poet took on the heteronym in 1914. He wrote 30 poems in this persona. Today, he’s considered to be one of the greatest poets of the Portuguese language. He’s known as a poet, as well as a translator, critic, and philosopher. Caeiro is only one of his popular heteronyms. Others included Ricard Reis and Álvaro de Campos.
