Amrita Pritam

Amrita Pritam was a Punjabi poet and novelist whose best-known work, ‘I Call upon Varis Shah Today,’ depicts the trauma of the Partition of India. She was awarded the Route des Indes Literary Prize for Denis Matringe’s French translation of her novel, The Skeleton.
