Anne Spencer

Anne Spencer was an American poet and civil rights activist who worked at an all-Black High School as a librarian for twenty years. Most of her work was published during the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s and was respected during her lifetime. She died at the age of 93. Read more about Anne Spencer.
