Archibald MacLeish

Archibald MacLeish was born in Glencoe, Illinois, on May 7, 1892. He was a Modernist poet who studied at Yale University and enlisted in the First World War. He is remembered for his work promoting the arts and libraries. Two collections of his papers are held at the Yale University Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
