Babette Deutsch was an American writer who is remembered for her novels and poetry collections. The latter includes her first publication, Banners, published in 1919, and Animal, Vegetable, Mineral published in 1954. Besides her personal literary accomplishments, she was also a skilled translator, working on Alexander Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin.
