Beatrice Garland won the 2001 National Poetry Competition with ‘undressing’. Her first collection was published in 2013, titled The Invention of Fireworks. It was shortlisted for the Forward Prize. She cites John Donne, John Clare, and Seamus Heaney as among her inspirations.
