Bob Kaufman Poems

Bob Kaufman was an American poet and jazz musician who is colloquially regarded as the “black American Rimbaud,” an allusion to Arthur Rimbaud, the French surrealist poet. He was inspired by the works of Langston Hughes, Guillaume Apollinaire, among others. Many of his poems were never written down, surviving instead through the oral tradition.
