Ciaran Carson was a northern Irish poet who passed away in 2019. He was the author of several poetry collections, including The Irish for No and First Language: Poems. The latter T.S. Eliot prize. He worked as the Director of the Seamus Heaney Center for Poetry at Queens University in 2003.
