Delmore Schwartz was an American poet born in 1913 in Brooklyn, New York. He spent time at Columbia University and the University of Wisconsin. He received a BA from New York University. His best-known work is a short story titled “In Dreams Begin Responsibility.” He also wrote collections of verse.
