Jesús Papoleto Meléndez is a Puerto Rican poet and activist. He has also worked as a playwright and teacher. Meléndez is noted as a member of the Nuyorican Movement. He was influenced by the idea that poetry should be accessible to all people. His books include Casting Long Shadows and Concertos on Market Street: Poems.
