Jonathan Swift

Jonathan Swift was a satirist and essayist. He also wrote poetry and worked as an Anglican cleric. He’s remembered for A Tale of Tub and A Modest Proposal. Furthermore, he’s regarded as one of the best English satirists, using a deadpan, ironic style of writing. To this day, his satire is enjoyed by a wide audience.
