Yasmine Gooneratne Poems

Yasmine Gooneratne is a celebrated Sri Lankan poet and short story writer. She is well-regarded for her creative literature, which is commonly studied in Australia, Europe, and the USA. In 1990, she was awarded the Order of Australia, the country’s highest award. 

While her poetry focuses on the culture and politics of the South Asian diaspora, Gooneratne is also a literary critic renowned for her works on Alexander Pope and Jane Austen.
